Picture the finished deliverable
A brief should tell you what you are making, who it is for and where it will go. Clipping existing footage, filming original UGC and posting to your own audience involve different work. A campaign label alone is not the complete agreement.
Read the delivery requirements before applying. A file submission and a post on your channel are not interchangeable. If both are requested, check what is expected for each.
- Check the number of videos or posts, platforms, duration, language and deadline.
- Open product links and reference examples. Ask what matters in each reference: the opening, structure, setting or demonstration.
- Separate mandatory talking points and visual rules from optional ideas.
Understand what the payment depends on
A flat fee, payment per 1,000 verified views, a base fee plus those views, commission and a product or service exchange are different arrangements. On Vouched, a cash UGC campaign currently uses one of the first three. Check the campaign's own terms instead of treating its headline amount as money already earned.
Look for any eligibility conditions, review requirements, measurement window and payout timing. Ask about anything missing before starting work. Views are not automatically sales, and a submitted video is not automatically approved.
Keep the scope visible
Clarify the revision allowance and intended content use. If the brand wants paid advertising, additional versions or a new platform later, discuss those requests separately rather than assuming they were part of the original deliverable.
For a visit or service exchange, confirm the location, booking process and point of contact. For app content, check that you can access the app and demonstrate what the brief requires.
Do a brief check before delivery
Review your work against the requirements while you can still fix it. Confirm that the product and links are correct, the demonstration is visible, and the file or post follows the agreed format.
Keep your creative choices intentional. A strong submission can meet the brief without copying a reference word for word. If a requirement is unclear or impossible, raise it early instead of guessing.
Common questions
What should I do if the brief is missing something?
Ask for clarification before starting, especially for deliverables, revisions, compensation, usage or deadlines. Do not assume a reference video or campaign title answers every requirement.
